Meet the Team
Dana-Jade Small
Hello! My name is Dana and an Accredited Social Worker and the Owner of Dixie and Thyme Counselling.
I started working in the human services industry in 2017 as a youth worker in Out of Home Care, and I graduated from the University of New England in 2020 with a Bachelor of Social Work. I am currently wanting to commence further study in a Master of Clinical Sexology to provide additional assistance to those I support.
I believe that it is important to take a holistic approach to physical and mental health care. As such, I work with individuals, couples, and families to look at all of the factors that may bring someone to therapy including: work, relationships, identity and sexuality, trauma, stress, life changes, and more.
I use a wide array of evidence based interventions and focused psychological strategies in my practice, and have recently started offering EMDR to my clients.
I offer a warm, welcoming, and judgement free space for all, and welcome clients from LGBTQIA+ backgrounds. I believe it is important for each person to have a safe space where they are able to support their mental health, growth, and share the hardships that they have been experiencing either at the present, or in the past.
Rebecca Hooper
Hi! My name is Bec, and I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) who has lived in Tamworth since 2018.
I have experience working in the mental health sector as a support worker, and more recently offering counselling and therapy services to children, young people and adults.
I graduated from the University of New England with a Master of Social Worker (Professional Qualifying) and a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Practice in 2018, and am passionate about learning and growing my skills.
My special interest is Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), however, I feel I am an eclectic in the work that I do – drawing on many modalities and trainings to tailor services to an individual’s needs.
